Origin of Yacdonalds

The name “Yac” and the logo of the Yak were chosen as Yak is the animal which is one of only sustainable mountain animal in Nepal and Dong is the king of the yaks. Hence, the name Yac Donalds is the westernized version of YAK DONG (King of Yaks). Secondly, the colors red and yellow are preferred in Mustang and Tibetan Buddhism are considered sacred and auspicious.

Where we are located

Located at the heart of a medieval Mountain Village with its establishment history dating back to 15th century, Kagbeni in Mustang Nepal at the altitude of 2800m, surrounded by towering, snow-capped peaks (Mt.Nilgiri and Daulagiri) and acrid desert landscapes around Kagbeni in Mustang resembles Tibetan Plateau. Until recently, it was the northern most area that foreigners were allowed to visit with a special permit and one of most popular destination in Annapurna Circuit Area. Based on the bank of two Sacred Rivers Muktinath and Kaligandaki, Kagbeni one of the sacred Hub for Hindu and Buddhists worshippers as well as Foreign Trekkers.

The sparse population and the traditional Tibetan culture has given kagbeni an impression of a place that is still largely unspoiled and continues to maintain many aspects of their ancient heritages, culture, rituals, festivals and way of life.
